Our founder Lauren Hart has been closely involved in the design and certification of a recently completed SDA certified home by Sana Living. Lauren, who is a certified SDA assessor has been working closely with Sana Living throughout the entire process to ensure homes like this one, become a permanent part of the SDA landscape as an example of how high-physical support homes combine with modern and stylish home design.

Construction of this particular home in Dianella, built by Building Development Group and Construction (BDGC) began in early October 2019 and has taken 12 months to complete. It has an occupancy of up to 4 people, each of whom have their own ensuite and private alfresco area. The home also includes an accessible kitchen with height adjustable benches, side opening oven and dishwasher drawers. Other important features include a gas generator that provides power back up to the home from Generac, and sophisticated automation features by Limitless Automation and Go Doors.

The home has been certified to Platinum level under the now superseded Liveable Housing guidelines and was built to be registered as a High Physical Support SDA home.

The High Physical Support design category includes features designed to provide accommodation for people who have significant physical access requirements, and who have very high support needs.

While this newly built home can be found in Dianella, the design has been replicated in the suburbs of Morley, Parkwood and Lynwood. Sana Living has a large pipeline of properties designed to the new SDA Design Standard, being built across the Perth Metropolitan area, Peel and South West regions. This home has participants moving in over the next few months.

We are excited about the future of SDA in Perth, and look forward to showcasing properties from Sana Living and other SDA providers we provide certification services for as they are completed.
