Opportunities at Optimal Therapy

Graduate and Early Career Therapists

For recent graduates and early career therapists (up to three years out), we offer an exciting full-time opportunity that launches your occupational therapy career. Our comprehensive program is designed to provide you with the necessary support, mentorship, and hands-on experience to thrive in the field of occupational therapy.
The benefits of joining a smaller team are that you aren’t one of many graduates; we only take 1-2 graduate or early career therapists at a time to ensure you get the attention and support you need to get your OT career off to a great start.
What does it look like?
A 90-day plan that sets you up for success (and all the support you need afterward)
  • Day 1 – orientation and cultural induction with our Founder and Operations Lead, get your equipment set up, and meet your buddy!
  • You will buddy with one of our team members for the first 8 weeks at OLT. You will do what they do, see who they see, and have someone on hand to make you feel at ease, ask questions to, and find your feet.
  • While mainly working with your buddy, you will also get an opportunity to go on visits with the rest of our team; this way, you get to meet most of the team 1:1 and get a full overview of OT at OLT.
  • Throughout your 8 weeks, you will have weekly check-ins with our Operations Lead so you can feel comfortable that you’re on track to get started with a caseload.
  • In week 9, you will hand over from your buddy to your clinical supervisor/mentor, and from here, you will start building your caseload for the last 4 weeks of your onboarding plan.
  • Weeks 9-12 will still be full of joint learning and team opportunities, but you will be starting to work with your clients and fill up your calendar.
  • At 90 days, you will be embedded in the OLT team and ready to launch into your OT career! Don’t worry, there will be HEAPS of ongoing support; we’re invested in your long-term development.

What we offer

At Optimal Therapy, we’ve cultivated a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. We may be small, but we are mighty.

Mentoring and support

At OLT, we believe in the power of mentoring and support to expand our skill sets continuously. Our dedication to growth ensures that no two days are alike, as we encounter diverse challenges and encounter different people. We use a coach approach with our team and are committed to helping our team members develop not just their clinical skills, but to grow personally as well. We have endless in-house PD, through monthly lunch and learns, quarterly team days, access to OTuition our online learning platform and constant team support; but in case your PD interests lie outside of that we also have a PD budget for each team member to achieve their learning goals.

A supported and sustainable approach to ‘KPIS’

At Optimal Therapy, we understand that KPIs play a vital role, but it’s our unique approach that sets us apart. We strive to redefine how these indicators are perceived, valuing meeting our clients needs, and doing it well whilst fostering a culture of support and growth.

Values-driven

Our values are more than just pretty phrases on a wall (they also don’t need to be on our walls) because they are who we are and how we operate, and our team truly embraces them. It’s not about perfection, but a genuine commitment to living and breathing these principles every day, bringing our best selves to work and making a real impact.

Adults working with other adults

In our unique environment, we prioritise adult-to-adult collaboration, fostering a culture that values autonomy and trust. We’ve established efficient systems that allow each team member to focus on their expertise, free from micromanagement or being a micromanager – because, let’s face it, who’s got time for that?

Supportive environment

Within our close-knit community, you’ll experience a drama-free environment, devoid of the politics often found in larger organisations. This allows us to remain focused on our shared goals and maintain an unwavering commitment to the well-being of our clients. The team-oriented spirit extends beyond work and spills into our social interactions, creating a supportive and inclusive culture that leads to the retention of valued staff.
