Firstly, we want to acknowledge a significant part of our journey – our clients. Throughout 2023, we had the humbling opportunity to serve a whopping 350 different clients. Each unique interaction, be it SDA, AT, complex mods supports, or Therapy, allowed us to learn, adapt, and keep improving to support our clients.
Talking about support, no discussion would be complete without mentioning the heartbeat of our organisation–our team members. This year saw fabulous new faces joining our ranks, while others embarked on exciting new paths. In the midst of work, we toasted to not one but 4 engagements, celebrated a wedding, and welcomed a new baby.
The year also witnessed 11 insightful Lunch and Learn sessions, a chance for us to break bread and share wisdom. Noteworthy presentations by our own team stimulated engaging conversations and opened our minds to various intriguing subjects. Not to forget the two extraordinarily enlightening team days where Linda and Tamina from Vital Interpreting Personnel, and Nicky Montgomery broadened our understanding of the Deaf, Blind, and Autism communities.
2023 was an entire year dedicated to our special grant project, ‘Allied in Regions’ with Fly2Health – that’s something we are incredibly proud of. Together, we successfully launched three online training frameworks for allied health assistants and employed two in-house health assistants in Albany to better support our regional clients.
Our desire for innovation was further showcased in the successful hiring of an exemplary project manager for OTuition. Teeming with fresh ideas and plans, we’re thrilled to take our learning platform, courses, and content to some new heights in 2024.
Most importantly, our biggest achievement lies in supporting each other in a challenging environment. Our dedicated team worked relentlessly to keep learning and loving being OTs and we’re really proud of the team and organisation we work with.
That said, it’s time to put our feet up and celebrate 2023 at our Christmas party tomorrow. After soaking in the festive joy, we’ll recharge our batteries during our well-deserved break and return rejuvenated in 2024.
