Julia Shellabear

Senior Occupational Therapist

Julia is a Senior Occupational Therapist who brings a wealth of knowledge to Optimal Living Therapy, having worked across diverse clinical settings in both Australia and the UK.

During her time in the UK, Julia immersed herself in both bustling urban areas and more rural settings, working with a diverse patient population across a range of environments – from acute, inpatient rehabilitation to community neurological settings. Over time, she developed a particular interest in neurological conditions, accessible housing and minor home modifications.

She takes a person-centred approach to supporting individuals to live as independently as possible in their own homes, working closely with clients to assess their unique needs and develop tailored solutions through environmental changes and assistive technologies.

Dedicated to practical and sustainable interventions, Julia focuses on empowering clients to thrive in their homes and communities.

Julia also has completed training in Medico Legal reporting and has an interest in completing Independent Medical Examination reports for the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) ensuring high-quality, evidence-based assessments that inform appropriate recommendations.
