Why did you choose a career in the Occupational Therapy industry?

I’ve always been passionate about helping people, and always knew I wanted to study something along the lines of Physiotherapy or Social Work, but that was until I found out about Occupational Therapy at a career expo, and was immediately drawn to this. I liked how diverse an OT role can be, and how I could use my creativity to help people overcome barriers.

What is the best part of your job?

Meeting and building relationships with clients in their natural environment, collaborating with them and those important to them to achieve their goals and enhance their quality of life. I love the problem-solving aspect of the job, being able to personalise supports according to each individual’s preferences and goals, and watching them engage in activities that are meaningful to them.
