Get to know Katherine:

Why did you choose a career in the Occupational Therapy industry?

Since a young age I have identified an internal motivation to help people close to me and the people within my community. When I was told about OT by my career’s councillor at school, I jumped at the idea of having a job that allowed me to enable and empower people to participate in meaningful tasks and activities each day I went to work.

What is the best part of your job?

Building relationships with people and getting to know everyone’s story. I love hearing about what motivates people, the events that shaped them into who they are and giving someone the opportunity to tell their story and be heard. An added bonus is seeing people participate in daily tasks that they may not have been able to for a period of time and witnessing the joy that brings.
