Josie Bechelli is a Senior Occupational Therapist who is dedicated to supporting individuals in their own environments. She works with clients to achieve a range of goals, including equipment prescription, postural assessments and prescription, pressure care management, and other tailored interventions. Josie focuses on building strong, trusting relationships and takes a collaborative approach to helping clients reach their goals. With experience in aged care and dementia support, she is also committed to improving the independence and quality of life for those she works with.

Why did you choose a career in the Occupational Therapy industry?

I chose a career in occupational therapy because it provided me with the opportunity to work in a person-centred industry where I can support and empower individuals to meet their goals in a unique way. It is a job that is varied, works with a range of different people and can be both creative and hands-on.

What is the best part of your job?

I love connecting with people, listening to stories, forming collaborative relationships that work towards individual goals and achieving positive outcomes together. I love that OT is about providing people with support to do the day-to-day things that bring meaning to their lives. It is a privilege to support people to live the life they want to lead.
