Get to know Jasper:
Why did you choose a career in the Occupational Therapy industry?
I began studying commerce when I realised my true passion was to help people and develop meaningful relationships and rapport with people who would benefit from them. After minimal research, OT was a clear choice and provided many pathways to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
What are you looking forward to most about being a therapy assistant in community disability?
Being able to be in the place(s) where people spend the most time and try and fully comprehend the difficulties they face is what the community aspect of OT gives to me. In this way, I can truly do my best to help in any way, shape, or form necessary by learning as much as I can from clients directly, rather than making assumptions from a piece of paper.
